Saint Elizabeth Health Care (SEHC) created aYSC in 1998. Originally known as e-care, the program evolved into a fully functional e-learning tool called @YourSide Colleague®, providing learning solutions to front line, service delivery centre (SDC) and corporate staff. Courses available on aYSC include Diabetes, Wound Care, Palliative Care and our new organization-wide orientation course entitled, "Care to Know About SEHC!"

In early 2000, SEHC was approached by a First Nations and Inuit (FNI) health authority to share aYSC with a number of communities searching for innovative solutions to improve health services at a local level. As early adopters of the e-learning program, First Nations have been instrumental in shaping the evolution of aYSC by providing input on the learning content and guiding us to adapt the program to their community needs.

Since 2006, SEHC has been supporting Trinidad & Tobago health care teams through on-site consultation and the use of aYSC. The National Oncology Programme and Regional Health Authorities in collaboration with SEHC have developed a Home and Community Support Programme, and aYSC’s Palliative Care course is one which is contributing to building local knowledge and competencies.
